
I guess my hoarder- like tendencies for collecting great tried & true recipes go a long way back.....
For my bridal shower {a buh-zillion years ago} in 1992, I enclosed 3x5 cards in with the invitations and asked family members & friends to share their favorite recipe for (the bride to be) to start my first collection with.... I received so many great ones, including this sugar cookie recipe from my Aunt Gail. I'm sure I've made this recipe 100 times....

My Sugar Cookie Recipe Won a Blue Ribbon
Aunt Gail's Sour Cream Sugar Cookies
- 1 Cup Butter, softened
- 1 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 3 Eggs
- 1/2 Cup Sour Cream
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 1 tsp. Baking Soda
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
Roll out on floured surface, cut with choice of cookie cutter and bake at 350 degrees approx. 8 minutes. Don't over bake and they will stay soft until gone. Frost as you like.Blend butter and sugar until creamy. Mix in eggs, and remaining ingredients. Sift in enough flour to make it easy to handle, usually 5 to 6 cups.
